Nearby Chalong Temple is the largest of Phuket's 29 Buddhist temples and includes several buildings, in addition to gardens, pools and gold leaf statuary. Painted walls depict scenes from the life of the Buddha. The temple is a particularly spectacular sight at night when many of the buildings are illuminated.
